Implementation of HR Strategy in SOHAR Port and Freezone
Executive Consultant Livia Lobo visited SOHAR Port in Oman, from 21-30 August 2017, to start implementation of the new human resources (HR) strategy.
The company’s senior management, who approved the new strategy, is committed to supporting the project and ensuring its success. The initial focus will be on coaching the HR team to become true business partners. This will include a series of initiatives, beginning with self-assessment and ensuring the team has a deep understanding of the new strategy. This will enable them to turn ‘transactional activities’ into ‘facilitative support’ to the managers and staff at SOHAR Port and Freezone that they deal with on a day-to-day basis. This will not be a quick process, but already there are small, everyday success stories that reflect the changing mind-set.
