Venturn has strengthened her team with the addition of Mark van Andel as new Managing Partner. From June 1st onwards, he will be joining Patrick van de Ven (Founding Partner) and Niels Romme (Managing Partner) at the helm of the organisation to lead the expansion of the firm.
In the years to come, Venturn will be focusing on further strengthening and expanding our services in both the maritime and logistics sector. “With Van Andel on board, we are adding a great deal of expertise and experience regarding international logistics and end-to-end supply chain management,” Patrick van de Ven explains. This gives us the capacity to further develop new and innovative programmes that correspond to relevant themes in the maritime and logistics sectors, such as social innovation, operational excellence, and digitalisation.
Keeping in mind the ‘war for talent’ that is currently raging across all industries, Venturn will expand the successful Young Professional programme to support even more employers in binding talent to their organisations. Niels Romme adds: “We are going to scale up our consultancy-related activities and focus more on identifying and implementing technological innovation. We will be aiming to help existing organisations operate much smarter, more flexibly, and more efficiently.”
HES, UPS and ECT
Mark van Andel (54) has close to thirty years of experience in the international maritime sector, transport and logistics. After completing his degree in mechanical engineering at the TU Delft, he started his career in the port of Rotterdam at HES International. Subsequently, he occupied several positions at UPS and Lehnkering Logistics. More recently, he was active as director of European Gateway Services at Hutchison Ports ECT for the past five years.
Social and disruptive
Van Andel: “Both in the logistics and the maritime world, the shape of the game in the coming years will be decided by operational excellence combined with social innovation and (digital) disruptive technologies. The organisational framework makes the difference in successfully implementing those innovations.” Romme adds: “At Venturn we are well-equipped to advise businesses on that matter and help them identify and bind talent to their organisation.”
